Darknell / Dunkel / Djunkel (DJ Unkel) is the leader of the Elite Bosses, and can be fought within Limina.
Requirements
Entry Level: 255+, must have completed Limina questline
- Note that Story Mode Darknell is unchanged, and will be fought the same way as pre-revamp
Arcane Force/Power: 850
Entry/Clear Limit: One entry a day, one clear a week (shared between Normal and Hard)
Boss Stats
Level: 265
HP (estimated for both):
- Normal Mode: 26,000,000,000,000 (26 trillion)
- Hard Mode: 160,000,000,000,000 (160 trillion)
Time Limit: 30 minutes
Life Count: 5
Boss Battle
Light Pillar
Throughout the battle, pillars of light will appear on the battlefield, dealing 40% HP damage after a few seconds.
Darknell
When fighting Darknell himself, it is recommended to pay attention to his sword to figure out what attack he is going to use.
Ground Slash
Darknell's sword will flash briefly and then slash dust at you, dealing 40% HP damage in Normal mode and 50% HP damage in Hard mode with Super Knockback, ignoring Knockback Resistance (aka Stance).
Ground Smash
Darknell will soar into the sky and teleport to a random player, slamming his sword into the ground, similar to Red Pierre's teleport attack. This attack deals 45% HP damage in Normal mode and 60% HP damage in Hard mode, inflicting stun.
Charge Attack
Darknell will charge up an attack for a few seconds and dash into players, dealing 60% HP damage in Normal mode and 90% HP damage in Hard mode. Similar to Damien, the dash attack can sometimes attack behind him. While ducking can avoid this attack, it is risky due to the other obstacles in the map hitting you and causing you to temporarily stand upright (such as Corrupted Warriors, Elite Bosses, and meteors); therefore, it is recommended to try to run away.
Ultimate Sword Technique
Darknell will charge up an attack for a few seconds and fire a giant projectile, dealing 120% HP damage in Normal mode and 150% HP damage in Hard mode. A message on the screen will appear when this attack begins, stating Darknell: Take this! My ultimate sword technique that cleaves even the stars! Similar to Will Phase 1's eye tornado, it is recommended to keep Darknell near the center of the map so that you can run behind him when he uses this attack. However, the projectile can be dodged if Darknell is at the far corner of a map by running to the opposite corner, as it stops just short of the end of the screen.
Corrupted Warriors
Darknell will continuously summon 4 Corrupted Warriors at a time, but less frequently than pre-revamp. These have 10 billion HP in Normal mode and 30 billion HP in Hard mode, and will be invincible for 5 seconds once they spawn.
These warriors will deal 5% HP damage when they attack.
Attack Up
Darknell will raise the attack of himself and any nearby Corrupted Warriors. However, this buff only has an effect on the Corrupted Warriors' touch damage, since all other attacks deal a percentage of your HP.
Diagonal Meteors
Darknell will slam his sword into the ground, causing 3-4 meteors to slowly descend diagonally toward the ground, following a random player until it reaches the ground. Each meteor deals 30% HP damage in Normal mode and 40% HP damage in Hard mode.
Elite Bosses
Unlike pre-revamp, the Elite Bosses are not separate mobs you will have to defeat; instead, they will appear every few seconds to attack and disappear. For every 1/3rd of Darknell's HP depleted, another Elite Boss will appear at a time, as follows:
Normal Mode:
66% HP or above: 1 Elite Boss
33 - 66%: 2 Elite Bosses
0 - 33%: 3 Elite Bosses
Hard Mode:
51 - 100%: 2 Elite Bosses
0 - 50%: 3 Elite Bosses
Black Knight:
Mad Mage:
Blue Sphere:
Mad Mage will create a blue sphere that flies across the map, dealing 15% HP damage per hit in Normal mode and 25% HP damage per hit in Hard mode. This attack can be deadly without Knockback Resistance if it continuously hits you, but it can be mitigated by dashing through / jumping over it.
Black Chains (Ground):
Mad Mage will create Black Chains on the ground, dealing 4 lines of 9.5% HP damage each (38% total) and inflicting slow.
Vicious Hunter:
Rampant Cyborg:
Final Cut:
Rampant Cyborg will use Final Cut, dealing 10% HP damage in Normal mode and 19% HP damage in Hard mode with Super Knockback, while also inflicting Blind, reducing your accuracy and causing you to miss.
Phantom Blow:
Rampant Cyborg will use Phantom Blow, dealing 6 lines of 7% HP damage each (42% total).
Bad Brawler:
Rewards
Darknell will drop Sparks of Determination, which are a necessary material needed to enter the Black Mage. Normal mode will drop 13 per person, while Hard mode will drop 16 per person. Darknell will drop 6 Bonus Occult Cubes in Normal mode, 10 in Hard mode. Darknell will also drop an Intense Power Crystal worth 52,812,500 mesos in Normal mode and 98,000,000 mesos in Hard mode (split between your entire party), as well as 0 - 3 Soul Shards, of which 10 can be exchanged for a random soul (more information here: Darknell's Soul Shard )
At a low chance, Hard mode can drop the Commanding Force Earring
