Event Concluded - Winners Announced Here Hello Dexless! To help stimulate our guide section of the website we are hosting a scaling NX giveaway for guide writers! Here's how it's going to work: The event will run between February 2nd - March 15th with varying rewards based off of the number of guides written. Fully submitted guides will be graded by Dexless staff by their level of detail, length, and overall quality on a scale of 1-5. For each point given, the submitter will earn one entry into our scaling NX lottery. The lottery will start off with 3 winners for 10k nx each. For every 5 guides submitted during the event, 10k NX/1 winner will be added to the lottery. Event Example Number of Guides NX Prize Pool Number of Winners 1-5 30k 3 6-10 40k 4 11-15 50k 5 NEW- Guide Bounty We are opening a bounty program for specific guides we are looking for. The bonuses are applied after the rounding and division from our communal voting. Event Rules: ▪ When a guide is posted, please make a comment in this thread with a link to your guide. ▪ Low quality guide spamming will not be allowed. ▪ Users found spamming the guide system will have their guide writing access restricted. ▪ Dexless Staff reserve the right to remove any guide they feel is not appropriate or is low quality. ▪ Guides found to be previously written elsewhere on the internet will not count for full credit if submitted during this event. (Rule Added 2/3/2018) Guide Suggestions: ▪ Try to create a guide for something you feel comfortable writing at length about. ▪ If you can, try not to duplicate a guide that already exists (unless you really want to, or your guide differs in some way) ▪ Focusing your guides on specific aspects of the game is fine. Things like bossing, cubing, farming are totally fine.
For those who have previously been hit by the 'you haven't shitposted enough to be allowed to make a guide' issue. We are now allowed to create guides regardless of how many posts we have. Of course, the mods will still have to read though it first to ensure no trolls. But yea, knock yourselves out!
What we are looking for: Accurate Information Readability Formatting If anyone is looking for examples of overall quality that we're looking for, have a look through some of our previous guides. An (Excessively) In-Depth Guide to Everything Paladin Dawn Warrior Guide Hero Reference Buccaneer Overview iTCG Crafting & Badge Exchange Guide You don't need to be as lengthy as the examples, but we are looking for your effort to show. Dexless Staff & Friends will be here to offer suggestions & corrections for you to update your guides with.
Hello! You friendly resident moderator who also doesn't know jack shit about Maplestory is here!! As a person who feels like they've been stuck in the "new player zone" for months now, here are some guides I would love to see (and maybe some other new people would like it, too)! Nebulites guide (How to get them, which ones are the most important, where to mount them, etc.) Best items to make mule gear out of (budget vs. non-budget, what works decently vs. what is the BEST) NODES?? (what are good, bad, combining, etc) (To be updated when I think of more.)
I guess the new rule make sense for the sake of the event but I do hope owners of guides elsewhere will nevertheless also allow the guide on Dexless as well where they may be useful to new users.
We've updated the event to include some bonus entries for users who create guides of specific types. Look for the NEW area in the original post.
Hello everyone! The Dexless Guide Writing Event has officially ended! On behalf of Dexless staff, I'd like to thank all of our contestants for their time and effort in creating these wonderfully helpful guides. Because of your contributions, Dexless now has 16 more guides -- this means the prize pool will be 60k NX and there will be 6 winners! Our staff will need a little time to review and grade all of your guides. We'll be updating the Guides Post as we go and the winners will be announced on Friday March 23, 2018! Thanks again to all the participants and we look forward to seeing our community grow with you.
Sorry about the lapse and wait period for finding the winners guys, I've been moving and got sick. Our team is working on getting all the reviewing done asap so we can do the drawing. Most reviews are completed at this point in time and you can see current scoring over on this page.
