    This patch contains pretty much everything from the last test server patch, changes to the Dawn Boss set, Reboot World boss party rewards, additions to Maple Chronicle, skill changes,and boss updates (including a few more changes to Magnus and Dunkel). Other than that, it has the Spiegella’s Strawberry Farm and Magic Stone Slab events.

    The next patch should be the 20th anniversary event, I wonder how big they’re gonna go for it!

    Dawn Boss Set Tradeability Changes

    The following items have been changed so that you can use Platinum Karma Scissors on them.

    • Twilight Mark
    • Daybreak Pendant
    • Estella Earrings

    ※ A scissor limit of 10 will be added to all existing items.


    Developer Notes:

    The Dawn Boss Accessory set was designed to be a set that gave step-by-step growth from the Boss Accessory set.

    However, since they became untradeable after equipping them, you had to invest a considerable amount of materials in the next step of items, the Pitched Boss set, to switch to them. This was an issue that made players reluctant to use the Dawn Boss items.

    To allow for gradual growth in accessories as intended, we have changed the ‘Twilight Mark’, ‘Estella Earrings’, and ‘Daybreak Pendant’ from the Dawn Boss set so that you can use Platinum Karma Scissors on them.

    Some existing items’ values may become lower due to this change but we decided that the factor of improving the game’s overall equipment growth process would be a net positive.

    We did not change the Dawn’s Guardian Angel Ring as the demand and effectiveness of that item are sufficiently high since it can be used with 3 other ring items.

    Reboot World Boss Reward Acquisition Criteria Changes

    Reboot World’s boss reward acquisition criteria has been changed.

    • In parties of 2 or more people, boss rewards and Intense Power Crystals can only be acquired by party members that deal a total of 5% damage or more to the boss.

    ※ Quests and achievements related to defeating bosses, as well as items that can only be acquired during certain quests can still be completed/acquired, regardless of the newly applied reward acquisition criteria.

    Reboot World’s Intense Power Crystal pricing criteria has been changed.

    • Existing: Based on the number of party members when entering a boss.
    • Changed: Based on the number of party members who have dealt 5% damage to the boss

    Developer Notes:

    The boss reward acquisition criteria when partying in Reboot World has been changed.

    Now, when entering a boss with a party of 2 or more people in Reboot World, only characters that have dealt a total of 5% damage or more to the boss will acquire boss rewards, including the Intense Power Crystal.

    Reboot World is a world where you directly acquire all items, which makes it a world that maximizes the fun of farming equipment and growing step-by-step.

    However, there was an unintended play style actively taking place in Reboot World, where characters who had not achieved the sufficient equipment growth standards would pay for boss clears. This let them skip the step-by-step equipment growth and quickly shorten the growth path.

    We have checked the data for Reboot and Reboot 2 worlds’ party boss fights in January~February 2023, and over 40% of characters had dealt less than 1% total damage.

    We decided that these actions seriously undermined Reboot World’s unique experience, and implemented a systemic improvement plan as quickly as possible.

    As we continue to add content in the future, we will try our best to make Reboot World’s unique experience better.

    Dimensional Library: Maple Chronicle

    Book of the Beginning

    The Book of the Beginning has been added to Dimensional Library.

    • Through the newly added Book of the Beginning, you can look back at the stories of each class.
    • The Book of the Beginnings contains the stories of the [Adventurers], [Cygnus Knights], and [Resistance] jobs. Other jobs will be added in a later update.
    • The Book of the Beginning will unlock when you get each ‘Job’s Book’ achievement. You must have at least one of these achievements to open the Book.
    • You can enter this content on any character level 100 or higher that have completed the ‘[Dimensional Library] Visit the Dimensional Library’ quest.
    • The Dimensional Library can be accessed through the Maple Guide or through the Dimensional Mirror.

    ※ The Day After stories will be added to the Book of Arcane River in a later update.

    New achievements have been added.

    • Adventurer’s Book

    NPC Romi’s dialogue has bee nchanged.

    • The Chronicle description has been changed to guide you through refreshing achievements.

    Book of Grandis: Shangri-La

    • This content is unlocked when you have at least 1 character in the same world that has completed the ‘Peach Blossoming Paradise’ achievement.
    • After unlocking the content, you can enter this content on any character level 100 or higher that have completed the ‘[Dimensional Library] Visit the Dimensional Library’ quest.
    • The Dimensional Library can be accessed through the Maple Guide or through the Dimensional Mirror.

    Improvements

    Graphic Options


    If you adjust the Options – Graphics tab’s ‘Background’ slider in the Quality section, it will now adjust the amount of particle effects displayed on the map. For users with low performance PCs, we improved the issue where gameplay was not smooth due to performance drops in certain maps.


    Developer Notes:

    You can now alleviate the issue of game delay in maps, like Labyrinth of Suffering, Moonbridge, and That Day of Trueffet, with many weather effects like fog or rain by adjusting the Background options.

    • [​IMG] Oak Barrel Roulette: This skill has been changed into a charge-type skill. You can prepare 1 Oak Barrel Roulette every 15 seconds, and you can store up to 4. The cooldown and the halved cooldown when a non-Ice buff is applied have been removed.

    • [​IMG] Rolling Cannon Rainbow: The damage has been increased from 600% to 800%.

    Developer Notes:

    Oak Barrel Roulette is a skill that was intended to change the combat experience by receiving one of the various effects.

    However, we decided that receiving an unwanted effect in tense combat situations caused excessive stress, so in this update, we improved the skill to be able to charge multiple stacks and alleviate that stress.

    Developer Notes:

    Flame Wizard’s Fox Mode Inferno Rise is a skill that was designed to instantly deal a lot of damage in boss battles, but the damage was set too low to work as intended.

    In this update, we want to increase Fox Mode Inferno Rise’s damage to supplement its importance in boss battles.

    However, since Flame Wizard is currently showing excessive performance in boss battles, we adjusted ‘Liberated Magic’s final damage boost. To make sure this adjustment did not have a large impact on grinding, we have also adjusted Orbital Flame’s damage boost when attacking normal monsters.

    • [​IMG] Liberation Orb: The active effect’ imbalanced damage has been increased from 1000% to 1200%, the balanced damage has been increased from 1100% to 1300%. The increased damage per excess magic power has been increased from 115%p to 150%p.

    Developer Notes:

    In the August 25 update, Equilibrium Liberation was added with the feature to delay entering Equilibrium mode. In the September 29 update, we added the feature to enter Equilibrium mode by using an Equilibrium skill.

    In this update, we changed it so that Equilibrium’s grace period is provided by default, and changed Equilibrium Liberation to a skill that is used to enter Equilibrium mode.

    In addition, we maintained the ability to enter Equilibrium mode by using Equilibrium skills in the form of a Custom Command, so that Luminous players can use Equilibrium mode more flexibly based on the battle situation.

When the skill hits an enemy, the duration of maximum stacked Combination Training has been changed to 12 seconds. The MP consumption has been changed from 20 MP per attack to 60 MP.     • [​IMG] Bomber Time: This skill has been changed so that you can cancel the skill by right-clicking it.
    • [​IMG] Metal Armor Full Burst: This skill has been improved so that you can use certain stat increasing buff skills even while casting it.

    Developer Notes:

    Mechanic summons several types of robots to battle, and is structured so that their stats increase in proportion to the number of summoned robots.

    Due to this structure, in both grinding and boss battles, you had to summon and play around robots that weren’t even required in the current battle situation in order to get maximum effectiveness from the skill.

    In this update, we removed the structure where their stats increased in proportion to the number of robots summoned by Robot Mastery, and changed it so that they receive the maximum damage boost at all times to alleviate the stress of maintaining all of the robots.

    Developer Notes:

    Some of Magnus’ patterns were intended to only be dodged by leaving the zone, so situations where you had to leave it happened often, but in those cases, the survival difficulty was excessively high.

    In this update, we want to alleviate the overall survival difficulty outside the zone by increasing the amount of health recovery, reducing the frequency of the continuous damage, adjusting the meteors’ damage and amount, changing the respawn location, and adjusting the sleeping gas.

    In addition, the Spin Cut pattern was intended to be avoided by leaving the zone, but there was a problem where it was impossible to re-enter if Magnus cast the attack continuously. Therefore, we added a cooldown and improved it so that you can avoid it by crouching, to allow you to stay inside the zone based on your proficiency.

    Other than that, the Slow and Undead patterns are debuffs that have a great impact on the player’s survival, but there were no special ways to dodge them.     In Chaos Mode, the clock bomb’s damage has been decreased from 100% max HP to 70%.

    The Torrent of Time pattern has been changed to one where if you do not deal a certain amount of damage within the countdown, it will explode and forced teleport you.

    The forced teleport pattern that activates when the Torrent of Time is used more than once has been removed.


    Developer Notes:

    Chaos Papulatus has a variety of instant kill patterns which excessively limited the places where characters could stand.

    Therefore, we decreased the clock bomb damage, which was an instant kill, to increase the degree of freedom in character positioning, and adjusted the difficulty by adding a 5 second potion cooldown instead.

    In addition, the location of the wind-up claws has been changed so that the platforms can be used strategically and phase 2’s Torrent of Time pattern has been changed so that uncontrollable deaths from the forced teleport pattern that overlapped with other instant kill patterns will no longer happen.

    Therefore, to prevent the issue of deaths regardless of control, we have changed it so that players are not hit by Void Fragments while in Fear mode.

    In addition, when the tentacles are down, we intended for players to climb onto the platforms, but in that case, the fall distance of the Void Fragments was decreased and the difficulty of avoiding them was increased.

    Now, when the tentacles are down, we have reduced the speed of some of the Void Fragments that fell too fast, and added a notice effect before they fall so you can play around them with control and mastery.

    In Dunkel, it was hard to identify the Energy Orbs because the colours of the map and the orbs were similar, and the images of the different orbs were also similar.

    Therefore, we changed the images of the Energy Orbs to more intuitive and easy-to-identify designs.

    In addition, we added a notice effect to the Energy Orbs to make them easier to deal with, and alleviated the issue where Energy Orbs were continuously created in a specific location and the density of Orbs created in one area was too high.

    Finally, due to Dunkel’s characteristics where the battle took place intensively at the bottom of the map, it was hard to see the notice effect displayed off-screen. The height of the floor has been lowered to minimize the meteor falling distance and the map’s ceiling height has been changed so that the notice effect can be seen in any situation without compromising existing gameplay.

    The Power of Creation meteors’ hit ranges have been decreased by about 20%.

    In Black Mage phase 3, the Power of Creation pattern was intended to be one that required control to continuously pay attention to where the platforms spawn and then finding one to stand under when he cast it. However, the size of the meteors was too big compared to the width of the platforms and characters could still die if they were below them. Therefore, by adjusting the meteors’ hit ranges, we have improved it so that you can survive more consistently underneath large platforms.

    Magic Stone Slab


    The Magic Stone Slab event will run from April 6 to April 19. This event is available to all characters level 101 or higher.

    The three troublesome little warlock brothers, Melky, Balther, and Casper, have found another ancient artifact! Collect sweet treats to receive the mysterious power from the their magic stone slab!


    You can participate in the event by accepting the ‘[Magic Stone Slab] Magic Stone Slab’ quest through the event icon or by talking to Melky in Henesys, Leafre, or Nameless Town.

    You can hunt monsters within your level range to collect Sweet Snacks. You can acquire up to 300 per day per world.

    Every day, you can complete the ‘[Magic Stone Slab] Daily Mission – Collect Sweet Treats’ quest by collecting 100 Sweet Snacks to acquire 300 EXP Vouchers, which you can trade in to acquire experience based on your character’s level. This mission can be completed up to 10 times in total.

    ※ On Sundays, the ‘Sweet Snacks’ acquisition rate and dailiy limit will be doubled.

    ※ You can complete the daily mission 1 time per day per world.

    ※ Your Sweet Snacks will not be consumed when you complete the daily quest.

    You can trade in your EXP Vouchers to Casper for experience through the ‘[Magic Stone Slab] Use EXP Vouchers’ quest.

    ※ EXP Vouchers can only be used by characters level 200 or higher.

    ※ EXP Vouchers will give the same amount of experience to characters over level 260.

    You can open the Magic Stone Slab through the ‘[Magic Stone Slab] Use the Magic Stone Slab’ quest, by using the ‘Magic Stone Slate Fragment’ item, or by talking to the Magic Stone Slate NPC.

    You can consume Sweet Treats to receive stat buffs. You can choose which stats you want, the power of each one, and the duration of the buff. The stronger the buff’s stats and the longer the duration, the more Sweet Treats you will need.

    However, you can only use a maximum of 100 Sweet Treats for each time you use the Magic Stone Slab.

    Types of Stat Buffs and Required Sweet Treats:

    • Stage 1: +15% boss damage/defense ignore/additional experience/normal monster damage [5 Sweet Treats]
    • Stage 2: +20% boss damage/defense ignore/additional experience/normal monster damage [10 Sweet Treats]
    • Stage 3: +25% boss damage/defense ignore/additional experience/normal monster damage [25 Sweet Treats]
    • Stage 4: +30% boss damage/defense ignore/additional experience/normal monster damage [45 Sweet Treats]
    • Stage 5: +40% boss damage/defense ignore/additional experience/normal monster damage [80 Sweet Treats]

    Stat Buff Duration and Required Sweet Treats:

    • 5 Minutes [10 Sweet Treats]
    • 15 Minutes [25 Sweet Treats]
    • 30 Minutes [45 Sweet Treats]
    • 1 Hour [80 Sweet Treats]

    ※ You need at least 15 Sweet Treats to use the Magic Stone Slab. (5 minute duration [10 treats] + a stage 1 stat [5 treats]).

    ※ The buff from the Magic Stone Slab will stack with all other buff effects.

    ※The buff from the Magic Stone Slab will be maintained even if you reconnect.

    ※ If you receive a new Magic Stone Slab buff while one is still active, the previously applied buff will disappear.
