The third patch of the MapleStory Nova update: History, Another Story has been released. This one contains Cadena’s 5th job skills, new 5th skills for all classes, and a new episode in the Dimensional Library. There were a few changes to the new class 5th job skills from KMST, and a few more Spring Project additions as well as new events! The MapleStory Nova update is split over 5 patches: June 22: Splash July 6: Chain of Liberation, Cadena July 20: History, Another Story August 10: ? August 31: ? Here is the Maple Update Info Centre video for this patch. 5th Job Cadena Cadena’s 5th job advancement has been added, along with new skill cores and enhancement cores. New Skill Cores Chain Arts: Fury: Throw an uncountable number of chains, wrapping around space itself. Chain Arts: Fury will not activate Damage Reflect. (max level: 25) Level 1: Consumes 1000 MP. For 36 seconds, when you attack, create a giant chain that pierces through a random path, dealing 124% damage 6 times on up to 10 enemies. Giant chain cooldown: 1 second. Cooldown: 179 seconds. Level 25: Consumes 1000 MP. For 60 seconds, when you attack, create a giant chain that pierces through a random path, dealing 220% damage 6 times on up to 10 enemies. Giant chain cooldown: 1 second. Cooldown: 155 seconds. A.D Ordnance: Combine the mechanism of the ancient Nova weaponry Blue Dragon Cannon and the Shadow Merchant’s techniques to call upon a modern cannon. The cannon will collect energy and eventually fire it. A.D Ordinance will not activate Damage Reflect. (max level: 25) Level 1: Consumes 1000 MP. For 10 seconds, the cannon will accumulate energy and deal 151% damage 4 times on up to 8 enemies around it at regular intervals. After all the energy has been accumulated, fire an orb that deals 764% damage 8 times on up to 15 enemies. Cooldown: 25 seconds. Level 25: Consumes 1000 MP. For 10 seconds, the cannon will accumulate energy and deal 295% damage 4 times on up to 8 enemies around it at regular intervals. After all the energy has been accumulated, fire an orb that deals 1460% damage 8 times on up to 15 enemies. Cooldown: 25 seconds. All Jobs New skill cores have been added. All Jobs Erda Shower: Shoot out condensed Erda to attack enemies. (max level: 25) Level 1: Consumes 3000 HP. Deals 465% damage 6 times on up to 15 enemies. After being used, absorb some Erda and decrease Erda Shower’s cooldown by 1 second for every monster hit. Cooldown: 45 seconds. Level 25: Consumes 3000 HP. Deals 825% damage 6 times on up to 15 enemies. After being used, absorb some Erda and decrease Erda Shower’s cooldown by 1 second for every monster hit. Cooldown: 45 seconds. All Warriors Body of Steel: Make your body as tough as steel to prevent yourself from being knocked back by enemy attacks. (max level: 25) Level 1: Consumes 5% HP. For 30 seconds, prevent being knocked back by any enemy attacks and increase your resistance to statuses by 51. Whenever you are hit, increase your damage by 3%, stacking up to 10 times. Cooldown: 240 seconds. [Passive effect: 1 STR, 50 HP] Level 25: Consumes 5% HP. For 35 seconds, prevent being knocked back by any enemy attacks and increase your resistance to statuses by 75. Whenever you are hit, increase your damage by 3%, stacking up to 10 times. Cooldown: 240 seconds. [Passive effect: 25 STR, 1250 HP] All Magicians Ethereal Form: Move to another dimension for a short time to reduce damage taken. If you use the skill again while in the Ethereal Form state, you will return to your original dimension. While in the Ethereal Form state, you cannot use any other skills. (max level: 25) Level 1: Consumes 1000 HP. For 3 seconds, if you are attacked by an enemy, you will not take damage or be knocked back and the attack will consume 7410 MP instead (if you don’t have enough MP, it will consume 2470 HP). Cooldown: 60 seconds. Level 25: Consumes 1000 HP. For 3 seconds, if you are attacked by an enemy, you will not take damage or be knocked back and the attack will consume 5250 MP instead (if you don’t have enough MP, it will consume 1750 HP). Cooldown: 54 seconds. All Archers Critical Reinforce: When hitting a fatal shot, find your enemies’ weaknesses and inflict even more damage. (max level: 25) Level 1: Consumes 500 MP. For 30 seconds, your critical rate can exceed 100%, and your critical damage will be increased by 21% of your critical rate. Attacking skills will not be affected by the additional critical rate. Cooldown: 120 seconds. Level 25: Consumes 500 MP. For 30 seconds, your critical rate can exceed 100%, and your critical damage will be increased by 45% of your critical rate. Attacking skills will not be affected by the additional critical rate. Cooldown: 120 seconds. All Thieves Ready to Die: Use your mortal determination to defeat and destroy your enemies. While in the Ready to Die state, you can use the skill again to enter an even more determined state. (max level: 25) Level 1: Consumes 10% HP. For 30 seconds, decrease your evasion rate (including additional avoid) and increase your final damage while taking increased damage from enemy attacks (including % HP attacks). While in the 1st stage of the skill, you can use it again to enter the 2nd stage. While in the 2nd stage of the skill, you can use it again to end the skill. Cooldown: 90 seconds. [Passive effect: 1 attack] Stage 1: 20% decrease in total evasion rate, 10% increase in damage taken, 10% final damage increase. Stage 2: 90% decrease in total evasion rate, 40% increase in damage taken, 30% final damage increase. Level 25: Consumes 10% HP. For 30 seconds, decrease your evasion rate (including additional avoid) and increase your final damage while taking increased damage from enemy attacks (including % HP attacks). While in the 1st stage of the skill, you can use it again to enter the 2nd stage. While in the 2nd stage of the skill, you can use it again to end the skill. Cooldown: 78 seconds. [Passive effect: 25 attack] Stage 1: 20% decrease in total evasion rate, 10% increase in damage taken, 12% final damage increase. Stage 2: 90% decrease in total evasion rate, 40% increase in damage taken, 35% final damage increase. All Pirates Overdrive: Overcharge your weapons to draw out more attack from them for a certain period of time. After the skill ends, the overused weapon will have its stats decreased for a certain period of time and while Overdrive is on cooldown, you will not be able to switch to another weapon. (max level: 25) Level 1: Consumes 1990 HP. For 30 seconds, increase your attack by 26% of your weapon’s clean attack. After the duration ends, for the remaining cooldown time, your attack will be decreased by 15% of your weapon’s clean attack. Cooldown: 70 seconds. Level 25: Consumes 1750 HP. For 30 seconds, increase your attack by 50% of your weapon’s clean attack. After the duration ends, for the remaining cooldown time, your attack will be decreased by 15% of your weapon’s clean attack. Cooldown: 65 seconds. Other Changes The required time to complete the 5th job advancement has been decreased. The waiting time in between charging Arcane Stones has been completely removed! This means the 5th job advancement now only requires 6 hours in total, 2 hours for each Arcane Stone! When you use Core Gemstones, you will now only receive V Cores that you can equip. Arcane Symbols’ maximum level has been increased. I will add more details when I find them but I think it was increased to level 20. Dimensional Library Dimensional Library – Episode 4: Bard of Snow Mountain has been added. Hundreds of years ago, their names were scattered and disappeared alongside a blizzard. The only things that were passed down were old instruments and sad songs. New quests have been added. After receiving certain titles, you can now buy them again in case you dropped them. Cross Hunter Certification (Lee) King of Root Abyss (Oco) Maple Chat (Irene) Blockbuster related titles (Roco) If you try to register a skill that cannot be used with the Pet Auto Buff or skill macro systems, a popup will appear with more information. (Note: it says you cannot register non-buff skills, skills with cooldowns, summon related skills, and on/off skills) You can now register Hyper buff skills and Decent skills from item potential with the Pet Auto Buff. When you have accumulated the maximum number of Union Coins, a popup notification will now appear to remind you to claim them. The on/off status of the Soul Weapon UI will now be saved after closing the client. You can now recharge stars and bullets at the Mu Lung point shop. The maximum number of Crystals and Crystal Ores that can stack in one slot has been increased from 100 to 3000. Medals will now be instantly registered in your collection after acquiring them. When opening Core Gemstones, if you have them on a hotkey and you press the hotkey to open another while the animation for one is already playing, the animation will end, you will instantly receive the V Core, and the next Core Gemstone will be used. On the character select window, it will now show you the number of used and available character slots for 5 seconds upon connecting. It can be viewed again by clicking the server button in the top right. On the character select window, the number of character pages will now be displayed at the bottom of the screen. Game Related When creating characters or changing character names, if you fail multiple times, you will be required to complete a lie detector. After completing Urus matching, you can now participate in the content on channels 21~30. The drop rate of Lunar Dews for the Empress’ Might quest has been slightly increased. Certain mission completion conditions for the Nova Step Up event have been changed. Lv. 140 mission: quest requirement has been changed from <The One Who Walks the Road of Oblivion 5> to <The One Who Walks the Road of Regret 5> Lv. 164 mission: mission can now be completed by receiving the rewards from a Monster Expedition Lv. 204 mission: in Reboot/Reboot 2, the Legendary Hero Elixir/Advanced Boss Killer Elixir/Advanced Penetration Elixir will be excluded from the conditions The Maple News‘ close button and loading page’s designs have been changed. The following errors have been fixed. Fixed an error that prevented certain quests from being completed in Nova. The Nova Step Up event’s Star Force monster hunting mission has been changed to allow level 201+ characters to kill level 180 Star Force monsters to complete it. Fixed an error where using the Rune of Greed would active the Rune of Transcendence’s message and effect. Fixed an error where the screen message after using a Rune would be obscured. Fixed an error where you could move through the terrain on The SEED’s 38th floor. Fixed an error where you would receive meaningless messages when taking pictures in the Mushroom Castle content. Fixed an error where there were unusual motions for the Jaihin Spear, Jaihin Guards, Jaihin Claw, Jaihin Dual Bowgun, Muspel Magician Suit, Muspel Warrior Suit, and Elven Crystal Suit. The Mini Popo pet’s dialogue has been changed to match its characteristics. Fixed an error where sometimes you could not save a spirit in Spirit Saviour by pressing the NPC Chat key only once. Fixed an error where when mining/harvesting, the last key pressed during the arrow key minigame would cause the character to move in that direction. Fixed an error where the screen effects that showed up when entering Pierre or defeating Vellum would appear cut off in the 1366*768 resolution. Fixed an error where if you used an item while in a text entry UI, it would automatically be used. Fixed an error where Warrior Specters would not appear for the ‘Securing the Frontline!’ quest and thus it could not be completed. Fixed an error where Cadena would receive the Gold Agent Emblem when trying to re-receive the Silver Agent Emblem. Fixed an error where if you entered the Cash Shop or Auction House after summoning something, the cooldown would decrease but its duration would not. Fixed an error where certain maps’ backgrounds would look awkward after a Night Walker used Dominion. Fixed an error where Phantom’s Joker skill’s range would be decreased if used on certain monster targets. Fixed an error where Cadena would move awkwardly if using Chain Arts: Chase in maps that blocked down jump. Cash Related The Hair Room Slot Expansion has been added. It can be purchased for 17,900 NX and will be on sale from July 20 to July 26. Currently, by default, you have 3 Hair Room slots to store Mannequins. You can now expand your slots by up to 2 more by using the new Hair Room Slot Expansions. When you have fully expanded your slots, you can store up to 5 mannequins. The Name Eraser has been added. It can be purchased for 1,700 NX and will be on sale permanently. It can be used to remove the names on items which have had the Name Tag item used on them. It can only be used on items which your character has used the Name Tag on (no removing other people’s names!). However, you cannot use this to remove the name of the person who crafted an item. The Style Change in Summer event runs from July 13 to July 26. It features a few new items on sale in the Cash Shop. The Change Royal Hair Coupon and Change Royal Face Coupon are special coupons that let you get hairs/eyes from the other gender! So males can get female hair/eyes and females can get male hair/eyes. Finally, during this event, the Rainbow Package, Marine Girl/Boy Package, and various summer themed items will be on sale in the Cash Shop! The Chick pet will be on sale from July 20 to August 16. You can change its colour by using special Dye Coupons and if you have up to 3 together, you can get its pet skill. The August Royal Face Coupon will be on sale from July 20 to August 23. It features the new Star Sand Hair for females and the new Cello Hair for males. The Trendy Royal Face Coupon has been updated, featuring the new Hypnotized Face for males and females. The Gold Apple rewards have been updated. There’s also a new 200 Gold Apple package that will be on sale for 95,000 NX until August 2. The Heroes Wonder Package Early Bird Open! event will run from July 20 at 2pm to July 26. This event is to celebrate the release of these new Maple Hero figures! They look pretty cool! Basically, it’s a way for users to get the figures early. There will be 100 Wonder Sets available for each hero in all worlds, sold on a first-come first-serve basis for 75,000 NX each. They all come with a permanent outfit for that hero, a matching Petite pet, a 30 Day Teleport World Map, 10 Wheels of Destiny, 300 Power Elixirs, and 10 Buff Freezers. They also have two bonus items: a Figure Voucher (which can be used to input shipping information for a Figure of that hero) and a 30k Maple Points Voucher. So yeah, if you’re lucky enough to be one of the first 100 people to buy these packages, your figure will be shipped on August 2! Nova Mega Burning The Nova Mega Burning event will run from July 20 to August 9. Like before, when you create a new character during this event, you can choose to make them a Mega Burning character! Note that you cannot burn a Zero, and you can only do this once per world per Maple ID. Characters can only become Mega Burning characters when they are created. You cannot change your Mega Burning character but if you delete it, you can make another one. The main benefit of a Mega Burning character is the ability to gain two extra levels per level up. This effect will take place until level 130! You’ll also receive the Keep on Burning title which gives 100 all stats, 10 attack/magic attack, 10% boss damage, 10% defense ignore, and 400 HP/MP. The title can only be equipped after reaching level 130 and its stats will expire in 14 days. At level 100, you’ll receive the Legendary Secret Box which when opened will reward you with 2 Mastery Book 20’s, 2 Mastery Book 30’s, and a full Black set. At level 30, you’ll receive the Level 30 Equipment Box which is self-explanatory. Finally, when your Mega Burning character is created, it will receive a Snail pet that has 5 hours of magic. It comes with meso loot, item loot, auto loot, and auto HP/MP. You cannot use the Water of Life on it. 100 Person Bingo Double Board Addition The Bingo (Double Board Addition) event will run from July 20 to August 9. You will receive an invitation every XX:15 and XX:45 from 10:15 am to 11:45 pm. You can participate up to 3 times per day per character. Basically, it’s the bingo you all know and love, but with one twist, there are two boards. The kick is that you can place on the rankings up to two times, once per board. So for example, if you got 1st place on your first board and didn’t rank at all on your second, you’d receive a total of 32 Nova Coins. Sunday Maple The Sunday Maple event will take place on July 23, July 30, and August 6. On each of these days, various benefits will take place. During this event, the amount of time that you are logged in will be recorded in the Nova Sugar Time UI.
