The first patch of this year’s winter update, MapleStory Adventure, has been released! It is titled Momentum and contains a ton of content reorganizations/improvements, a new theme dungeon, and the beginning of the Adventure events.

In addition, Nexon accidentally added the assets for the new class in this official server patch somehow!! The new class is confirmed to be called Pathfinder, and is an Adventurer archer class! I’m posting this early so you guys can see this information, but the rest of the post might be missing some information/images (like events).

The update is split into three patches:

    • Momentum (January 10)
    • Pathfinder (January 31)
    • Squad (February 28)

Here’s the assets that were snuck into the patch files! I’ll translate the little blurb that they have on the character creation screen.

A curious adventurer fascinated by ancient relics. They are an archer who can use ancient power due to the effects of a curse obtained while on an expedition.

Wielding an exclusive weapon, the Ancient Bow, their special characteristic is combining 3 basic archery skills in battle to charge up the Relic Gauge, which allows you to use powerful skills.

    Attack: 4/5
    Difficulty: 3/5

So basically, the third archer adventurer is literally an adventurer, and gained their weapon (a new one!) while on an expedition (which I assume will be its tutorial).

When you receive a Skill Core from a Core Gemstone, the chance of getting a class-specific skill and the chance of getting a common skill have been separated.
