The first patch of the MapleStory Savior update has been released! It includes various improvements to the overall growth experience, the Star Force system, and many skill changes. The main event for this winter, Fairy Wonky’s Wongstaurant, has also begun! I tried out some new things in the post including anchor links to/from the overview, which I think will be pretty useful. Also I decided to stop covering Cash Shop updates since the rotations are never the same for every version lol. However, I’ll still add the more important information such as new Master Label/vac pet rotations and things like the BLACKPINK collaboration. The affected skills are as follows. Common: Erda Nova, Erda Shower, Ethereal Form, Spider in Mirror, Maple World Goddess’ Blessing, Empress Cygnus’ Blessing, Transcendent Cygnus’ Blessing, Cygnus Phalanx Archmage (F/P): Poison Region, Mist Eruption, Infinity, Megiddo Flame, Fire Aura, DoT Punisher, Poison Chain, Fury of Ifrit Archmage (I/L): Chilling Step, Infinity, Frozen Orb, Lightning Sphere, Thunder Break, Ice Age, Jupiter Thunder Bishop: Infinity, Holy Blood, Fountain for Angels, Triumph Feather, Angelic Touch, Peacemaker, Divine Punishment Flame Wizard: Orbital Flame, Orbital Flame II, Orbital Flame III, Orbital Flame IV, Blazing Extinction, Phoenix Drive, Infinity Flame Circle, Salamander Mischief Battle Mage: Triple Blow, Quad Blow, Death Blow, Finish Bloww, Battle Spurt, Battle King Bar, Abyssal Lightning, Grim Reaper Evan: Dive of Thunder, Magic Debris, Breath – Return!, Enhanced Magic Debris, Dragon Master, Imperial Breath, Break – Return!, Zodiac Ray Developer Notes: Magician classes were designed to not be affected by weapon attack speed when using skills. However, during the process of adding and changing skills, we confirmed that there were some that were unintentionally affected. Therefore, we have collectively changed all magician skills to be unaffected by weapon attack speed. There will be no changes for characters that are using Normal speed weapons due to this change, but for some characters that use Slow weapons, the action delay of some skills will be slightly decreased. Restraint Ring: It has been improved so that it is not affected by skill effect transparency settings. All Magicians Overload Mana: The final damage boost has been decreased from 10% to 7%. Developer Notes: In the previous August 25 update, we improved Overload Mana so that it would be applied to most skills, and we added the ability to recover MP to some magician classes, which increased Overload Mana’s effectiveness for many jobs. However, it was still difficult to fully utilize Overload Mana for classes that can’t easily recover MP or HP, and we didn’t intend for the skill to have different effectiveness for different classes. Therefore, in this update, we have added the ability to recover MP or HP to some classes. In addition, we decided that the current benefits given by the improved Overload Mana when compared to the difficulty of maintaining it were excessively high, so we slightly decreased the final damage boost. Also, some classes’ recovery skills were so efficient that there were no issues with MP costs in general combat situations, so inevitably we had to slightly lower their recovery efficiency. Archmage (F/P) MP Eater: The MP absorption rate has been increased from 20% to 30%. The MP absorbed has been decreased from 10% max MP to 5% max MP, and from 5% to 3% on boss monsters. Poison Region: The damage has been decreased from 205% to 200%. The final damage reduction when hit by multiple explosions has been increased from 50% to 60%. The damage boost when attacking normal monsters has been increased from 30% to 50%. DoT Punisher: The final damage reduction when multiple fireballs hit a single monster has been increased from 35% to 45%. Archmage (I/L) MP Eater: The MP absorption rate has been increased from 20% to 30%. The MP absorbed has been decreased from 10% max MP to 5% max MP, and from 5% to 3% on boss monsters. Bishop MP Eater: The MP absorption rate has been increased from 20% to 30%. The MP absorbed has been decreased from 10% max MP to 5% max MP, and from 5% to 3% on boss monsters. Dispel: The cooldown reduction to Divine Protection when you dispel a party member’s status effect has been decreased from 8 seconds to 6 seconds. Divine Protection: The number of critical status effects resisted has been increased from 1 to 5. The cooldown has been decreased from 75 seconds to 80 seconds. Divine Punishment: This skill has been improved so that it hits a certain number of times, regardless of whether the skill is being used for the first time or not. The damage has been increased from 450% to 485%. Developer Notes: We changed Bishop’s Divine Punishment to attack a certain number of times, regardless of whether it was being used for the first time or not, and in this process, the number of hits was inevitably decreased. To compensate for this, its damage has been slightly increased. Bowmaster Armor Piercing: This skill has been changed into a passive skill that increases defense ignored by 40%. Developer Notes: Bowmaster’s Armor Piercing had a problem where it was unpredictable, since the skill’s effect changed based on the monster being hit and the skill being activated. To improve this, we have removed Armor Piercing’s complex skill logic and changed it to give flat % defense ignored. Pathfinder Triple Impact: This skill now increases Split Mistel’s damage when attacking regular monsters by 120%p. Ancient Guidance: The final damage boost has been increased from 5% to 8%. NEW! Curse Enchant: With the completed Relic’s strength, engrave the power of a specific curse into the Enchant Force. When the skill is used, the effects are activated and when it is re-used, they are deactivated. On/off skill. [Master Level: 1] Level 1: Consumes 80 MP. Select a curse to engrave in the Enchant Force. Cooldown: 1 second. Advanced Cardinal Force: Cardinal Blast’s number of hits has been increased from 4 to 5. Cardinal Discharge’s number of hits has been increased from 4 to 5. Edge of Resonance: The damage has been increased from 800% to 880%. Ancient Archery: Additional Discharge’s damage boost has been increased from 50%p to 65%p. Additional Blast’s damage boost has been increased from 50%p to 70%p. Developer Notes: Pathfinder has a dynamic combat system where they perform various archery techniques that change based on the type of curse, but this causes excessive stress since you have to carefully manage the type of curse when using Enchant Force skills consecutively in urgent boss battle situations. To improve this, we added the Curse Enchant skill which lets you fix the curse to a specific one. Night Lord Quadruple Throw: The damage has been increased from 470% to 540%. Dark Serenity: This skill now increases final damage by 10%. Claw Expert: The critical damage boost has been decreased from 15% to 10%. Bleeding Toxin: The bleed damage has been increased from 1000% to 2000%. The duration has been increased from 80 seconds to 90 seconds. The cooldown has been removed. This skill has been improved so that it can be registered as a Pet Auto Buff. Spread Throw: When using Triple Throw, the damage of the stars thrown in additional directions has been changed to use a fixed 290% damage instead of a certain percentage of Triple Throw’s damage. When using Quadruple Throw, the damage of the stars thrown in additional directions has been changed to use a fixed 379% damage instead of a certain percentage of Quadruple Throw’s damage. Fuma Shuriken: The damage has been increased from 500% to 600%. Dark Lord’s Secret Scroll: The damage has been increased from 700% to 850%. Dual Blade Blade Fury: The number of hits has been increased from 4 to 5. Phantom Blow: The damage has been increased from 315% to 330%. Hidden Blade: The damage has been increased from 140% to 240%. The duration has been increased from 60 seconds to 90 seconds. The cooldown has been removed. This skill has been improved so that it can be registered as a Pet Auto Buff. Fixed an issue where the additional attacks did not activate on Haunted Edge. Fixed an issue where the additional attacks sometimes did not activate on some skills that attacked continuously in short intervals. Haunted Edge: Sura’s damage has been increased from 620% to 950%. Sura’s sword slash damage has been increased from 820% to 1000%. Rakshasa’s damage has been increased from 810% to 860%. Viper Vipercision: The attack boost has been decreased from 30% to 15%. This skill now passively increases final damage by 13%. Serpent Spirit: The cooldown has been removed. The Sea Serpent’s Will duration has been increased from 10 seconds to 30 seconds. Lightning Form: Each Energy Orb can now only hit a single enemy up to 14 times. The Energy Orbs’ number of hits has been increased from 5 to 10. The Energy Orbs’ attack interval has been decreased by about 20%. Captain Head Shot: The damage has been decreased from 980% to 880%. Unwearying Nectar: The cooldown has been decreased from 120 seconds to 90 seconds. The duration has been decreased from 30 seconds to 20 seconds. Bullet Party: The duration has been decreased from 12 seconds to 6 seconds. The damage has been increased from 500% to 600%. The number of hits has been increased from 5 to 7. The attack interval has been decreased by about 20%. Developer Notes: We changed Captain’s Unwearying Nectar so that it would synergize better with their other skills. In addition, the 5th job skill Bullet Party had low effectiveness compared to its long duration, which made it difficult to fully utilize in tense boss battles, so we decreased its duration and attack interval. Since Captain’s combat performance will improve, we inevitably had to lower Head Shot’s damage, but we still expect their overall combat performance to be slightly increased. Mikhail Royal Oath: The final damage boost has been decreased from 23% to 18%. Shining Cross – Assault: The damage has been decreased from 340% to 326%. Soul Master Solunar Slash: Fixed an issue where if you used this skill while crouching while using another skill, the previously used skill would be cancelled and the cooldown would not be applied. Flame Wizard Burn and Rest: The MP absorption rate has been dcreased from 30% to 22%. The MP absorbed has been decreased from 10% max MP to 7% max MP, and from 5% to 4% on boss monsters. Night Walker Quintuple Throw: The damage has been increased from 230% to 253%. The final attack’s damage has been increased from 920% to 1010%. Darkness Blessing: This skill now increases final damage by 10%. Shadow Bite: The damage has been increased from 880% to 900%. The damage when attacking boss monsters has been increased from 1320% to 1350%. Rapid Throw: Fixed an issue where sometimes the damage of the Rapid Throws used by Servants would not apply. Aran Swing Studies I/II: The final damage boost to skills other than Smash Swing after using Smash Swing has been removed. Polearm Mastery: This skill onw increases final damage by 8%. Drain: Fixed an issue where the skill description was awkward. Cleaving Attack: The damage boost has been increased from 10% to 30%. Fixed an issue where the wave release only had an action in Adrenaline Boost mode when used continuously. High Mastery: The final damage boost has been increased from 8% to 15%. Swing – Remain Time Reinforce has been changed to Swing – Boss Killer: Smash Swing and Aero Swing’s damage when attacking boss monsters is increased by 20%. [Required Level: 150] Developer Notes: Aran was forced to use Swing at certain times during battle due to the powerful effects of ‘Swing Studies’ and ‘Swing – Remain Time Reinforce’. This was the intended combat experience when we initally planned Aran, but we decided that this play style did not match recent combat trends, so we have removed the system. The skills have been removed and the reduced damage/final damage boosts have been supplemented through other skills. Evan Dragon Soul: This skill now gives attacks a 15% chance to absorb 5% max MP (3% on boss monsters). Wind Jump: You can now use Teleport one time after using this skill, even if you do not land on a platform. If you use Teleport after using Wind Jump, you will move a longer distance. Dragon Dive: Swift of Thunder’s damage boost has been increased from 80%p to 150%p. Swift of Thunder: The first~fourth points’ attack ranges have been increased by about 20%. The last point’s attack range has been increased by about 21%. This skill’s final damage is now decreased by 60% for each overlapping collision on an enemy. The damage has been increased from 150% to 400%. The number of hits has been increased from 6 to 9. Elemental Reset: The final damage boost has been increased from 15% to 17%. Dragon Breath: Swift of Thunder’s damage boost has been increased from 300%p to 745%p. Dive of Earth’s damage boost has been increased from 420%p to 620%p. Breath of Wind: The number of hits has been increased from 5 to 6. Breath of Earth: The number of hits has been increased from 5 to 6. Dive of Earth: The attack range of the first collision has been increased by about 18%. The attack range of the second collision has been increased by about 30%. The attack range of the third collision has been increased by about 20%. The damage has been increased from 190% to 370%. The number of attacks has been increased from 6 to 10. This skill’s final damage is now decreased by 50% for each overlapping collision on an enemy. Enhanced Magic Debris: The damage has been increased from 110% to 120%. Dragon Master: This skill has been changed into a key-down skill. When the skill ends, the cooldown will now be decreased by 18 seconds for every 1 second remaining of the key-down duration. This skill now gives 1 second of invincibility when it ends. Elemental Blast: The feature of after using a Mir skill, if you used Elemental Blast while using Circle of Mana, Elemental Blast would not be activated and Fusion skills would be activated has been removed. The damage has been increased from 1300% to 1550%. Dragon Break: The damage has been increased from 950% to 1150%. Spiral of Mana: This skill can now be registered and used from a hotkey. You can use the Custom Command feature to activate the skill by using Circle of Mana with the down arrow key. The attack interval has been decreased by about 14%. This skill can now only attack up to 16 times. Developer Notes: Since Evan didn’t have a skill that recovered MP, using Overload Mana was too tricky, so we added a feature to recover MP to Dragon Soul. In addition, we supplemented their somewhat lacking mobility and stability by improving Dragon Master and Wind Jump. We also decided that it was too difficult to get Evan’s Swift of Thunder and Dive of Earth’s full hits off due to the nature of recent boss battles, so we increased the skills’ collision ranges and the damage of the first collisions, while adding a final damage reduction when hit by multiple collisions to lower the stress of having to fully hit the skills. Luminous Self Recovery: This skill now gives attacks a 30% chance to absorb 5% max MP (3% on boss monsters). Light Reflection: The spread animation has been changed. Mercedes Unicorn Spike: The number of hits has been increased from 5 to 6. Gust Dive: The damage has been increased from 260% to 280%. Legendary Spear: The damage has been decreased from 700% to 630%. The number of hits has been increased from 3 to 4. Leap Tornado’s damage boost has been increased from 130%p to 206%p. The hit animation has been changed. Phantom Twilight: The debuff duration has been increased from 15 seconds to 60 seconds. Demon Slayer Weapon Mastery: This skill now increases final damage by 10%. Devil Cry: The debuff duration has been increased from 20 seconds to 60 seconds. Demon Slash – Remain Time Reinforce has been changed to Demon Slash – Extra Target: Demon Slash’s number of enemies hit is increased by 1. [Required Level: 180] Developer Notes: Demon Slayer was forced to use Demon Slash at regular intervals during battle (when Demon Awakening was not active) due to the powerful effect of ‘Demon Slash – Remain Time Reinforce’. This was the intended combat experience when we initally planned Demon Slayer, but we decided that this play style did not match recent combat trends, so we have removed the system. The skill has been removed and the reduced final damage boost has been supplemented through other skills. Demon Avenger Shield Chasing: The attack range has been increased by about 40%. When the targeted enemy disappears, the range for searching for another nearby enemy has been increased by about 17%. Robot Mastery: Fixed an issue where the damage boost was not applied correctly if a robot was too far away. Magnetic Field – Cooltime Reduce has been changed to Magnetic Field: Ignore Guard: Magnetic Field’s defense ignored is increased by 20%. [Required Level: 180] Distortion Field: This skill has been improved so that it can be used while in the air. Micro Missile Container: This skill has been improved so that it can be used while in the air. Developer Notes: For Mechanic, we wanted to provide a combat experience where you had to continuously install robots for Robot Mastery. However, in situations where you inevitably had to change maps, keeping the robots up was difficult and caused unnecessary stress. Accordingly, we want to provide a more free combat experience by removing ‘Magnetic Field’ and ‘Robot Factory: RM1’s cooldowns. The Hyper skill for ‘Magnetic Field’ that decreased the cooldown has been changed to ‘Magnetic Field – Ignore Guard’. Xenon Pinpoint Rocket: The damage boost when attacking normal monsters has been changed from 150% to 250%p. Hologram Graffiti: Force Field/Penetrate/Support: The skill effects have been changed. When you use Hologram Graffiti: Fusion in an area that overlaps with Force Field/Penetrate/Support, the previously installed Hologram Graffiti will now be removed and Fusion will be installed. OOPARTs Code: The duration has been increased from 40 seconds to 60 seconds. Overload Mode: The MP consumed has been changed from 2% max MP + 100 MP to 1% max MP + 220 MP. Developer Notes: We have greatly increased Xenon’s Hologram Graffiti’s range to improve their hunting performance. Also, in the last August 25 patch, Overload Mode’s duration was shortened significantly which made it overly difficult to use with Mega Smasher with longer preparation times. Accordingly, we readjusted Overload Mode’s MP consumption so that the duration is slightly reduced when compared to before August but increased from the current setting, to reduce the stress of using the two skills together. Blaster It has been improved so that after a skill is cancelled, linking to the next skill will be smoother. Revolving Cannon: This skill will now be activated automatically when using Magnum Punch and Double Fang. The ability to use this skill directly has been removed. Magnum Punch: The damage has been increased from 75% to 100%. Revolving Cannon’s damage when activated during Magnum Punch has been increased from 40% to 60%. Revolving Cannon’s damage boost when activated during Double Fang has been increased from 100%p to 170%p. Developer Notes: We confirmed that many Blaster players use Revolving Cannon with the skill macro system in a form close to activating automatically instead of using it directly. This was not intended, but we decided that there was room for improvement in terms of battle fatigue, so we changed the skill’ to be automatically activated when Magnum Punch or Double Fang is used. Kaiser Guardian of Nova: Fixed an issue where the Ancient Kaiser’s Souls would not attack if they were summoned to the same location when teleporting to an enemy. Kain [Possess] Strike Arrow: The damage has been increased from 200% to 220%. [Possess] Scattering Shot: The damage has been increased from 135% to 155%. The Star Force system has been changed so that if you fail to enhance an item below 15 stars, the items will no longer be destroyed. The Star Force costs for 11 stars to 14 stars have been increased. Developer Notes: Through this reorganization, we want to improve the Star Force enhancement experience by keeping the expected meso costs as similar as possible while reducing the variance based on probability. The ‘safe enhancement zone’ where items arent destroyed have been changed to include from 12 up to 15 stars, and the zone where Star Force does not drop has been expanded from 10 to 15 stars. As for the expected meso costs, which would decrease based on these two changes, we have increased the cost of enhancing 11~14 stars so that the expected cost would be as close as possible to the existing cost. [Back to Overview] Character Stats UI In the Detailed Character Stats window, attack speed, attack, and magic attack have been added. Attack Speed The character’s current attack speed will be displayed from stage 1 to stage 8. Stage 1 is the slowest and stage 8 is the fastest. The character’s attack speed will be shown based on the currently equipped weapon’s attack speed as well as the effects of things like skills and consumable items applied. However, magician classes are not affected by weapon attack speed. Attack/Magic Attack The character’s current attack and magic attack will be displayed. The attack and magic attack are determined by multiplying the current character’s total attack/magic attack by the attack/magic attack % increasing effects. However, Monster Life’s Petite Luminous (Equilibrium)’s potential and Inner Ability’s ‘Attack/Magic Attack per Level’ line do not apply attack/magic attack % increasing effects. [Back to Overview] Monster Life When someone visits your farm and combines with your monsters, the daily limit on the number of people that can combine with a specific monster without having to Charge Essence has been changed from 15 people to 300 people. ※ For farms that were visited from December 22 at midnight until the update, the daily limit on the number of people that can combine with a monster will be set to 300 starting the next day. The Laboratory’s first experiment is a feature to display your character’s silhouette in boss content. After turning on the feature, a silhouette of your character will be displayed when you enter boss content. You can select the silhouette output method, thickness, and colour through the combo box and slider menu. Developer Notes: The Laboratory’s goal is to test the performance or stability of new technology, supplement it through players’ feedback, and ultimately implement it. As the name implies, the features put in the Laboratory are experimental in nature, so they may not work properly or cause problems depending on the environment. We ask for your understanding and ample feedback. [Back to Overview] Destruction King Ursus The Ursus entry requirements have been changed. [Back to Overview] Error Fixes Monster Life Fixed an error where if Monster Life’s ‘Petite Luminous (Equilibrium)’ and Inner Ability’s ‘Attack/Magic Attack per Level’ line were active together, the attack/magic attack boost was applied abnormally. Developer Notes: We confirmed an error where if Monster Life’s ‘Petite Luminous (Equilibrium)’s potential that increased attack/magic attack by 1 per level and Inner Ability’s ‘Attack/Magic Attack per Level’ line were active together, the attack/magic attack boost was smaller than intended. This error occurred because the increased attack/magic attack value per level was set abnormally when both stats were active, and so we fixed it to work properly in this update. After claiming the reward, even if the character is deleted and recreated, you cannot receive the reward again. ※ All character creation rewards can be received even if the character is deleted and recreated. ※ You cannot claim the Burning World rewards and the regular world rewards for the same achievement at the same time. ※ The Eternal Flame Title Voucher, Core Gemstone, and Infinite Flame Title Voucher rewards can only be claimed by characters who have completed the 5th job advancement and the ‘Another Power, Arcane Force’ quest. ※ Each area’s Arcane Symbol reward can be claimed after completing that area’s quest that rewards the Arcane Symbol. ※ Existing characters who already have an Eternal Flame Ring cannot acquire a duplicate Eternal Flame Ring with the Eternal Flame Ring Voucher. ※ For Zero characters, they cannot use the Absolabs weapon so they will only receive the Dominator Pendant when they reach level 220. ※ If you are using Arcane Catalyst to move Arcane Symbols, you must first stabilize the Unstable Arcane Symbol and then receive the Level 5/7 Arcane Symbols from the level achievement awards to enhance them normally (Symbols can be grown up to level 20). Developer Notes: In this Hyper Burning event, if you designate an existing level 200+ character as Hyper Burning, you can no longer retroactively receive the rewards from the levels you have already achieved. If a character that already participated in a Hyper Burning event before could receive the Hyper Burning level achievement rewards again, this could cause unintended play styles such as receiving the rewards multiple times without leveling up. Therefore, we inevitably had to change the event details and we ask for your understanding.
