I would like to start off this post by saying that I am NOT MAX, this is actually Kobe. Max is currently out on vacation until the beginning of May and will not be writing the posts for the first part of the 20th Anniversary Update. I’ve written this post with help from Steve with images and Giga Sunny with some of the translations and proofreading. This Test Server Update consists of the 20th Anniversary Event, and it’s definitely one of the biggest events this game has ever received. Event details will be covered in next week’s post when the Official Update is released. Outside of the Anniversary patch, there were some very interesting changes with Cubes and Spell Traces, and some pretty small changes across other parts of the game. Wonki and Changsup, the current head of planning for Maplestory, went live shortly after the Test Server Update was released. They read through the patch notes and talked about how a lot of the plans they had for game improvements were going to be delayed all the way up until June for the Summer Update. It’s a bold move to raise people’s expectations this high considering the backlash they’ve already received this year. It’s going to take an insane Summer Update for them to be able to redeem themselves in the eyes of the community but we’ll see what happens when that time comes. This feature is only available for Red Cubes, Black Cubes, Additional Potential Cubes, and White Additional Potential Cubes The number of failures to tier up is stored separately for each individual cube and what rank potential you used that cube on, regardless of what item you’re cubing. The number of failures is shared within the world, and the value resets once you tier up an item. The number of failures per cube and potential tier you used the cubes on can be checked through the cube icon through the Mileage quest alerts. [ Back to Overview ] Cash Item Improvements The Buff Freezer System has been improved: Even if you do not use a Buff Freezer, the buffs will be maintained after the character is revived. Buff Freezers will no longer be sold in the Cash Shop After the maintenance on April 20th (Thursday), the Buff Freezers in your inventory will be deleted. ※ If you have Buff Freezers that you’ve purchased from the Cash Shop, a refund will be processed depending on the method of purchase. The 2nd Pendant Slot will be improved as follows: The 2nd pendant slot is changed so that it can be used at all times without needing to purchase it for use. The content of the quest to stop the Legion Commander Arkarium has been changed slightly, and new dialogue has been added for Heroes of Maple and Demon Jobs The Cross Hunter UI is no longer available and the hotkey has been deleted. You will no longer be able to obtain Cross Coins from bosses, instead they will now drop Spell Traces. This is to improve the experience of having to wait for the cooldown of a common skill even though your own class’s 5th Job skill is ready. In addition, we want to improve the combat convenience of Party Play by modifying the skill cooldowns of Battle Mage and Mechanic. Due to the adjustment, the effectiveness of Battle Mage and Mechanic in parties naturally increases, and the combat performance of parties that includes these two jobs will be higher than before, so Dark Aura, Debuff Aura, and Support Waver: H-EX will have a portion of their support capabilities for the party be transferred to passive skills and become exclusive to the Battle Mage and the Mechanic. Adventurer Thieves Ultimate Dark Sight: The cooldown has reduced from 195 seconds to 185 seconds. The final damage increase is reduced from 15% to 13%. All Demons Call Mastema: The cooldown has reduced from 150 seconds to 120 seconds. HP consumption has been reduced from 5% to 4% of Max HP. Duration has been reduced from 55 seconds to 44 seconds. All Lefs Magic Circuit Full Drive: The cooldown has been reduced from 200 seconds to 120 seconds. This skill is changed to have 1 Circuit prepared every 180 seconds, with a limit of 2 Circuits. The maximum amount of damage that increases according to the current MP ratio is reduced from 45% to 40%. All Warriors Aura Weapon: The cooldown has been removed and one charge Weapon Aura is prepared every 180 seconds with a limit of 2. Body of Steel: The cooldown has been reduced from 240 seconds to 120 seconds. The duration has been reduced from 35 seconds to 17 seconds. Damage when attacked is increased from 3% to 6%, and the maximum number of stacks is reduced from 10 to 5. All Pirates Overdrive: The cooldown has been reduced from 65 seconds to 62 seconds. The attack power increase is reduced from 70% to 62% of the weapon’s base attack power. Battle Mage Dark Aura: Damage increase has been reduced from 20% to 10%. Spell Boost: This skill now increases final damage by 5%. Dark Aura – Boss Killer: Damage to Bosses has been reduced from 10% to 5%.
