    As mentioned before, a new test world patch was released that includes balance changes for all jobs! They also made further changes to the Adventurers, including to their story quests, and certain systems have been modified or removed entirely.

    Developer Notes:

    In this test world Adventurer remaster update, we made structural improvements by reviewing the valuable opinions sent to us by players, and did a 1st set of numerical adjustments. In terms of design, some things have been changed, but there are still other things that are being changed or are planned to be changed.

    Even after this update, we will continue to make changes/supplement until it is added to the official server so that we can satisfy as many Adventurer players as possible. If you share your opinions in a variety of ways, we will review them and improve the remaster’s completeness. Thank you.

    • [​IMG] Flash Slash: This skill will now activate Aura Weapon and Final Attack. Fixed a problem where the skill would not attack if used near the Flame Wolf. Fixed a problem where sometimes you would not rise on top of a platform.
    • [​IMG] Scarring Sword: You can now right-click on the buff icon to cancel this skill. Fixed a problem where Aura Weapon would be activated when using this skill. Fixed a problem where basic attacks during this skill would not inflict Scars.

    • [​IMG] Beholder’s Buff: This skill has been improved so that if you receive the buff from another Beholder, it will not overwrite yours if it is a lower skill level. The skill description has been changed to be more accurate.
    • [​IMG] Lamancha Spear: The lower attack range has been slightly increased.
    • [​IMG] Dark Impale: The lower attack range has been slightly increased.
    • [​IMG] Dark Resonance: The final damage boost has been increased from 6% to 10%. You can now use Dark Resonance while using Beholder Impact. The skill description has been changed to be more accurate (can now be registered as a Pet Auto Buff skill).
    • [​IMG] Reincarnation: Fixed a problem where Beholder Impact did not fill the gauge required to decrease the cooldown. The Hyper passive skill Reincarnation – Damage’s final damage boost will now be instantly reflected in the stat window after learning it. The skill description has been changed to be more accurate.
    • [​IMG] Gungnir Descent: The skill name has been changed from 궁그닐 디센트 to 궁니르 디센트 (more accurate Korean transliteration). All Hyper passive skill names have been changed accordingly.

    • [​IMG] Pierce Cyclone: The keydown attack’s damage has been increased from 800% to 960%, the final attack’s damage has been increased (don’t see an actual change in the skill).

    • [​IMG] Energy Bolt: This skill is no longer blocked by terrain. The firing distance has been decreased. The damage has been decreased from 309% to 78%, the number of hits has been increased from 1 to 4.
    • [​IMG] Mana Wave: Fixed a problem where open job advancing would create another Mana Wave skill. Fixed a problem where Mana Wave’s floating effect would appear when using mounts that can Glide.

Fixed an issue where the damage was not affected by magic attack. The hit effect has been changed. The Enhancement Core’s skill description has been changed to be more accurate.

The damage has been decreased from 220% to 200%, the number of hits has been increased from 3 to 4. The number of Angel Wing feathers created has been decreased from 5 to 4. The Angel Wing feathers’ enemy tracking range has been increased. This skill can now be registered on the Pet Auto Buff. This skill is no longer affected by cooldown skips. The skill description has been changed to be more accurate.
    • [​IMG] Angel Ray: This skill will now prioritize the enemy with the highest maximum HP in range. The debuff duration has been increased from 15 seconds to 20 seconds. Fixed a problem where there was a delay if this skill was used after teleporting. The Enhancement Core’s level 20 bous effect has been changed to increase the critical rate. This skill is no longer blocked by walls.

    • [​IMG] Arrow Blow: The skill description has been changed to be more accurate. The Enhancement Core’s level 20 effect has been changed to increase regular monster damage. Fixed an issue where you would not be in combat after using this skill.

    • [​IMG] Illusion Step: This skill now passively gives 60% Stance.
    Bowmaster

    • [​IMG] Arrow Platter: The skill has been changed so that the arrows are fired at the lowest angle by default. Fixed an issue where sometimes they would be fired at an awkward angle. Fixed an issue where the arrow fire angles were higher than before. Fixed an issue in the Battle Analysis where the icon displayed was the pre-remaster icon.
    • [​IMG] Flash Mirage: The skill description has been changed to be more accurate. The number of attacks required to activate Flash Mirage has been decreased from 15 to 12. The number of attacks applied by Arrow Platter, Hurricane, Silhouette Mirage, Afterimage Shot, Quiver Full Burst, and Arrow Rain has been changed from 10 to 7. The number of attacks required to activate the skill will now be displayed on the buff icon. You can now right-click on the buff icon to cancel this skill.
    • [​IMG] Quiver Flow: The skill description has been changed to be more accurate.
    • [​IMG] Phoenix: Fixed an issue where its movements were awkward while using Retreat Shot. Fixed an issue where the monster hit effect appeared at an awkward time.

    • [​IMG] Sharp Eyes – Critical Rate: Fixed an issue where the skill icon was different than the actual critical rate boost.

    • [​IMG] Quiver Full Burst: The flame arrows’ enemy tracking range has been increased. If an enemy disappears while a flame arrow is flying towards them, instead of instantly exploding, it will now track another enemy from its current location. Fixed an issue where flame arrows created by other characters remained for a long time. Fixed an issue where sometimes the flame arrows did not disappear.

    Developer Notes:

    We have improved Night Lord and Shadower’s 3rd job growth experience by adjusting the excessively low effectiveness of Shadow Partner and Dual Blade at lower skill levels. In addition, to improve Stance, we have added Stance to Fake and allowed each job to reach 100% through their own unique skills.

    • [​IMG][​IMG] Bloody Pocket/Bloody Explosion: The Bloody Explosion skill has been removed. You can now use the enhanced Meso Explosion during Bloody Pocket. The enhanced Meso Explosion will track the enemy with the highest maximum HP and deals increased damage when attacking boss monsters. When you cast enhanced Meso Explosion, you will instantly acquire the Murderous Intent buff.

    • [​IMG] Assassinate: The first attack’s cast effect has been changed. Instead of slightly increasing the action delay, you can now cancel the finishing blow with Enhanced Meso Explosion. The damage boost effect during Dark Sight has been removed. The finishing blow’s final damage boost with the Murderous Intent buff has been decreased from 100% to 50%.
    • [​IMG] Smokescreen: The skill range has been moved upwards and the area has been increased.
    • [​IMG] Shadower Instinct: The attack boost has been decreased from 70 to 50. This skill now increases final damage by 15%.
    • [​IMG] Veil of Shadows: The attack cycle has been changed to be the same as the effect.
    • [​IMG] Flip the Coin: The skill description has been changed to be more accurate.
    • [​IMG] Shadow Assault: The maximum number of monsters hit has been increased to 12.
    • [​IMG] Eviscerate: The invincibility duration when used on an enemy with the maximum number of Wound stacks has been slightly decreased from 2 seconds from 2 seconds to 1.8 seconds. The cooldown has been increased from 14 seconds to 20 seconds. The damage has been increased from 950% to 1350% and number of strikes has been increased from 4 to 5.
    • [​IMG] Sonic Blow: You can now cancel this skill with Shadow Assault. The cooldown will be decreased by the same amount as when it is cancelled with Eviscerate.
    • [​IMG] Demon Slashing Shadow Formation: Fixed an issue where the effect would disappear if you used Assassinate or Eviscerate linked to Sonic Blow while using this skill.

    Developer Notes:

    In the January 18 test server, we have changed Bloody Pocket/Bloody Explosion and made additional improvements related to Assassinate’s delay/cancelling. Also, Assassinate’s damage and final damage boost have been changed to apply to other skills, including 5th job skills.

    First of all, the Bloody Explosion skill has been removed. While Bloody Pocket is active, you can use Enhanced Meso Explosion. In the previous Bloody Explosion, you would only receive the Murderous Intent buff when it hit an enemy, and we confirmed that this was an additional burden when compared to Meso Explosion before the remaster. As a result, we have changed it so that you use Enhanced Meso Explosion during Bloody Pocket instead of Bloody Explosion, and the Enhanced Meso Explosion prioritizes the enemy with the highest maximum as well as gives the Murderous Intent buff as soon as you cast it.

    The action delay for Assassinante has been changed to what it was before the January 12 test world update but instead, the finishing blow can now be cancelled with Enhanced Meso Explosion. As a result, the first attack’s delay has been decreased when compared to before the remaster, and the action delay and cancellation timing of the finishing blow will remain the same.

    For the numerical changes, the damage and final damage boosts from Assassinate have been improved to apply more universally. Assassinate’s damage boost while in Dark Sight has been removed, and instead, Advanced Dark Sight’s final damage boost has been increased. And Murderous Intent buff’s final damage boost to Assassinate’s finishing blow has been decreased but instead, Shadower Instinct now increases final damage.
    Dual Blade

    • [​IMG] Lightning Form: The orb damage has been decreased from 900% to 360%, number of hits has been increased from 3 to 5. MP will no longer be consumed when casting the orb. An effect that lets you confirm the transformation duration has been added.

    Developer Notes:

    In the last test world, the overall usability of the summons were improved. However, there are still areas where their usability are poor so we wanted to improve this as well as improve Captain’s other skills to reduce the dependence on its summons a little.

    The problems for crewmembers that caused inconvenience in combat have been fixed. It has been improved so that the character does not become in combat even when a crewmember attacks. In addition, we wanted to prevent the crewmembers’ attacks from activating Special Cores like Fatal Strike or the Demiurge of Destruction at undesired times.

    Siege Bomber’s attack speed was lower when compared to its previous specifications, so we have made it faster. In addition, in the last test world, we tried to increase the install duration to 60 seconds based on the max level but the duration formula was applied incorrectly. We apologize for not being able to perform the test smoothly.

    For Battleship Bomber, both the ship’s design and the cannon firing locations were changed. The usage experience changed a lot so the firing location has been changed to be the same as before. In addition, the damage has been slightly decreased to reduce the dependence on Battleship Bomber.

    Although Captain is a long-range character, there was a problem where you had to move close to install Sign of Bombard intermittently, so we have added an Auto feature that installs it at the location of enemies hit by Continual Aiming. The ability to uninstall it, which many players commented on, has been changed to be able to be done using a command.

    Captain’s direct skills other than summons have been improved as well. Rapid Fire and Head Shot’s damage have been improved, and we have added a final damage passive to Captain Dignity to slightly reduce the dependence on summons. Also, there was a problem whre it was difficult to recognize Deadeye’s accurate aiming so the quickslot icon will now change when it is aimed.

    In this test world update, you can play all of the reorganized Adventurer stories. Until now, most of the story content was only released at the time of the official server update, but we decided that more testing and collecting feedback from players would be the best way to improve the quality of our story content. Therefore, it is all available in the test world now.

    This Adventurer story reorganization took placae in the form of maintaining the framework of the existing ‘Adventurer’s Book’ while adding new settings and changing/reinforcing existing settings to spread them out over the tutorial and job advancement quests.

    Through this, we expect that there won’t be too many big differences with the Adventurer story that players know and expect, but the main character and the surrounding characters’ traits will be emphasized better and the setting and plausibility of the existing story will be more solid.

    Beginning with this Adventurer story reorganization, we ask for your interest in the ongoing story content reorganization.
    Job Skill Improvements


    Developer Notes:

    In this test world, the improvements made for each job’s skills were focused on improving structural problems and adding or modifying various skills with combat utility.

    There are certain jobs whose combat performances have been changed due to these changes, but the overall adjustment of jobs’ combat performance through numerical adjustments take place in stages at a later date.

    After the Adventurer remaster, discussions related to characters’ combat performance on a variety of communities have been more active than ever, and many players are sending us their opinions.

    Through this, we were able to feel how much love players have for each of their characters, and even MapleStory itself, so at the same time, we have deeply reflected on the various improvements needed for characters’ combat experience.

    Going forward, even if it’s not on the same level as a remaster, we will review and change things that can quickly improve the combat experience through structural modifications like this update every month.

    Of course, we will continue to work on numerical improvements as well. However, numerical changes are very intuitive to a character’s combat performance and can bring rapid changes so we are trying to make more conservative and gradual changes. Although the extent of the changes may be different for each job, we are planning to only make numerical adjustments with a maximum of 10~20% in a single update, and after the changes are applied to the official server, we will check our data and make additional adjutments.

    We sincerely apologize for not being able to match the pace of changes expected by players regarding skill improvements until now. From now on, we will do our best to provide better combat experiences through steady and gradual improvements.

    We have improved the daily boss entry limits to alleviate the problem where you would lose your daily entry if any unexpected situations caused you to stop playing while in the process of challenging bosses. Therefore, we have kept the limit because it would create a gameplay pattern that is not intended by the development team.

    Certain skills that are not affected by directly used attack speed increasing skills’ effects but are affected by passive skills and Ability attack speed changes have been changed so that their attack speeds cannot be changed.


    Developer Notes:

    Recently, in the process of making attack speed increasing buffs into passives, we have discovered an issue where certain skills that were not affected by active attack speed increasing buff skills were still affected by certain passive stats.

    When attack speed is increased for these skills, an error occurs where the skill effects and character actions are outputted abnormally. In particular, for skills that involve movement, the movement distance would be applied inconsistently or sometimes the skill would not be used properly, which we have received many inquiries about.

    Due to this change, the experience of using certain skills may change, but we decided that this continuous error would cause more convenience which is why we have changed it this way.

    Fixed an issue where Resistance Line Infantry would sometimes appear behind the background.

    Night Lord’s Showdown Challenge and Demon Slayer’s Devil Cry’s debuff effects have been changed so that they do not overwrite each other. The overlapping effects have been changed so that the higher effect is applied.

    Fixed an issue with Flame Wizard’s Ignition – Max Ignition where the effect did not apply.

    Fixed a problem with Flame Wizard’s Infinity Flame Circle could not be used while slowed.

    Fixed a problem where sometimes Aran’s Combo would change to 490 right after Adrenaline Boost ended.

    Fixed an issue where if you skipped all of the [Morass] area pre-quests, the Brother NPC would appear in Trueffet Square.

    Fixed an issue with Pathfinder characters where the ‘This quest has already been completed once.’ message would appear while doing the ‘Finding Lost Memories’ quest.

    Fixed an issue where the ‘[Pink Bean] Road to Oblivion’ quest appeared as the ‘Breaking the Barrier’ quest in the completed tab.

    Items


    Fixed an issue where the equip time of the Spirit Pendant appeared awkwardly.

    Fixed an issue where the Demon Avenger’s Arcane Symbol’s item quality was less than Special Class.

    Fixed an issue where the Shadow Style effect would output the character’s afterimage awkwardly when certain capes were equipped.

    Fixed an issue in Reboot World where if Elite Champions and Elite Bosses appeared in certain regular maps that didn’t require Force, a lower HP and experience would be applied.


    Developer Notes:

    In Reboot World, monsters have higher health than in regular worlds so that you can feel the changes in your character’s growth better. During our code improvement work in June 2019, we organized duplicated code and incorrectly applied Elite Champion and Elite Bosses’ HP in regular maps, leading to lower HP and experience when compared with regular worlds. In line with the purpose of Reboot World, we have changed it so that Elite Champions and Elite Bosses will have their HP and experience applied normally in regular maps. We will take care so that problems like this do not happen again.

    Fixed an issue where certain monsters in the Asylum area dropped items that didn’t match their level.

    Fixed an issue where the skill alarm effect appeared awkwardly if you used a skill when its alarm effect activated.

    Fixed an issue where Strike Arrow registered in the quickslot flickered.

    Fixed an issue where Stella’s Starlight Chariot’s log out popup did not appear on Sundays.

    Fixed an issue where the ‘Find a Burning map’ Sudden Mission appeared when playing characters below level 100.

    Fixed an issue where if you applied the MVP Royal Damage Skin then entered a cross world channel, the MVP Royal Damage Skin would not be applied again.

    Fixed an issue in the World Map UI where searching for NPCs would output unsearchable maps.

    Fixed an issue in the Guild UI’s BBS where if you used the mouse wheel button to scroll while writing a comment, the text would be deleted.

    Fixed an issue where you could not send a note to account buddies with nicknames that were less than 4 English characters or 2 Korean characters.

    Fixed an issue with the ‘What Horntail Left Behind…’ quest where the NPC image covered the detailed information text in the quest UI.

    Fixed an issue in the quest UI where the NPC Icarut’s location was awkward.

    Fixed an issue in the Buddy UI where if you changed a regular buddy’s group, the changed group information would not be reflected instantly in the Buddy List.

    Fixed an issue where the notification for reaching your maximum number of Union Coins would be shown even if you didn’t reach your maximum.

    Fixed an issue where if you registered a stackable Link Skill in a preset on a character with that same job’s Link Skill before 2nd job, it would remain after reaching 2nd job advancement on that character.

    Fixed an issue where if you registered a stackable Link Skill in a preset from a character before 2nd job on a character with the same job branch, then added that skill, the skill information would not be outputted in the My Link Skill section.

    Fixed an issue where if you received a stackable Link Skill from a character before 2nd job on a character with the same job branch, the skill information would be displayed in 2 places on the Link Preset page (both the My Link Skill and Other Characters’ Link Skill lists).

    Maps


    Fixed an issue in the Seed 4F where Alicia’s dialogue when you needed to hunt the opposite side’s monsters to balance it out was awkward.

    Fixed an issue in the Seed 19F where the top centre rope image was cut off.

    In the Seed 27F’s upper traps, in order to fix the issue where characters would be moved to another platform instead of the one they moved to, the platform’s detection range has been changed.

    The Victoria Island world map displayed in ‘Utah’s House/Small Attic’ has been changed to show the current world map.

    Fixed an issue in ‘Hotel Arcs/Hotel Arcs Lobby’ where you could use Lie Detectors.

    Fixed an error where if you used Return to Nearest Town Scrolls in ‘Yum Yum Island: Mushbud Forest 1~3’, you would not be moved to ‘Yum Yum Island: Yum Yum Village’.

    Fixed an issue in ‘Orbis Tower/Orbis Tower Entrance’ where if you jumped over the right wing of the goddess statue, you would be fixed in the air without moving.
